About

Founder - Jess GillWelcome to Millionaire Marketing Classroom. My name is Jess Gill, and I’m the founder of Millionaire Marketing Classroom website, a place for articles, recommended tools, tips and tricks, and tutorials to do with marketing, social media, leadership, growth strategies and entrepreneurship.

I started this website while I was still in university doing a major in Biotechnology. In my 2nd year of undergraduate studies, I made the decision to ditch my Biotechnology degree and pursue marketing and analytics after graduation.

The transition was terrifying to say the least. My parents didn’t agree, but they blindly supported me. My friends didn’t understand. It was up to me to see the decision through and believe in myself.

But why did I make such a drastic change? I took a long term approach to the decision and, although I admit I had my doubts, I never regretted the decision.

I realised that I can only do so much with a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology. Most bio-technologists end up in an entry-level quality analysis/quality control job. These jobs often involve a lot of manual, repetitive work and without an advanced science degree, its difficult to climb up the ladder for the high impact and entertaining projects.

I had a goal to be my own boss. I didn’t want to depend on someone else for my livelihood. I wanted to be an entrepreneur and have my own business. I wanted to be able to empower others to improve their own lives and help them get to where they want to be. I wanted to see the people around me succeed. That was the whole premise of why I founded Millionaire Marketing Classroom.

Once I graduated and got my Biotechnology degree (it’s still enclosed in an envelope somewhere), I made my way into digital/social media jobs at advertising and media agencies that gave me opportunities to work with brands from various industries including Technology, Telecommunication, Banking, Retail and Government Services.

I have had amazing opportunities to work with both local and global brands like Maybank, RHB, Citibank, UOB, LVMH Moet Hennessy, Maxis, BlackBerry, Microsoft, Acer, Solvil et Titus, Optical88 and Singapore Ministry of Communications and Arts. Now I’m working at an amazing startup specializing in the education/publishing industry.

I enjoy thinking about marketing and the endless possibilities. The more I see how powerful marketing can be used as a tool of empowerment, the more I love it. I saw something more than career path. I saw passion that would allow me to create change and make an impact on the lives of others.

That’s why I’m stuck to marketing. That’s why I enjoy it more and more each day.
